It's the thought that counts right? So if you still need to get those holiday cards out and you're going to do them the old fashioned way (snail mail), then one of the things that I thought about this year may help you too.

First, I'm always struggling not to forget anyone that I want to send a card to. Secondly, I hate writing the envelopes out. I know that handwritten cards and envelopes is supposed to make people feel all tingly inside, but I just can't stand it. For one reason my handwriting sucks.

Tip 1: Create a group in Address Book (or in whatever contact manager you use) called Holiday Cards. Then drag the contacts into that group that you want to send cards to each year. At least that way you'll know who to send them to next year.

Tip 2: Remember that I hate handwriting envelopes, but I still want to make people feel tingly. So several years ago I had my handwriting (chicken scratch) converted into a FONT. I still use it to this day, any time I want to "write" a letter or envelope. The company is still around and you can go their site here.

Tip 3: Lastly Address Book in Tiger can now print Envelopes (and labels) directly from your contacts in your Holiday Card group. You can switch to your new handwriting font and go to town. Everyone will be so impressed that you took the time to write out everything by hand Smile

Tip 4: If you really want to set things ablaze, then why not go with your own custom stamps too? Yup, you can get PhotoStamps with the photo of your choice on them. They even have a free Mac utility that taps right into iPhoto so that you can easily pick one of your own photos and submit your order.
