You can create your own custom Photo stamps at stamps.com. US Postage 1st class stamps are 39¢ each. However, custom photo stamps cost a bit more because your paying to have a custom photo. One sheet of 20 is $17.99 which works out to 90¢ each. Wow! That's a lot! Keep in mind it is a stamp with your photo on it. So these aren't intended to mail your bill payments, they are intended to be used for special occasions.

Now for the tip!

If you have Photoshop CS2 or Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0. You have the Adobe Bridge. The Adobe Bridge has Photoshop Services under the Tools menu. One of the new services is PhotoStamps! You can now create your own photo stamps simply by selecting an image in the Bridge and choosing PhotoStamps from the Photoshop Services flyout menu.

I tried using this service to make stamps with a piture of my mother from 1942. These were to be used for invitations to her 80th birthday party. They rejected my order saying that the picture did not meet their content requirements, but they would not tell me why. It was totally preposterous. I was unable to resolve the issue, and vowed never to even bother trying to use them again. Their customer service stinks. Such a shame.

Could this have been your problem?

Yes, it would help us to solve the mystery if you could post the actual picture here that you uploaded. It could have been a very simple thing wrong with it.

I have used the serve once and my stamps came back just fine. Used them last holiday season.

Another thing to consider, if it was a commercially done portrait with a studio mark in the corner, they wouldn't do it because of copyright problems, old photo or not.

Interesting thoughts, but the file was a simple jpag, no watermarks, no nothing. The disappointing part was that when I comtacted them, they wouldn't indicate what the problem was so that I could fix it. I wasted at least a couple hours of my time and never got a resolution. With customer service like that, I don't usually return. Oh, by the way, a few months earlier, I used the service for some stamps with my daughters picture on it for a birthday party. No problems. Go figure.
