QuickTime Pro users that upgrade to Snow Leopard get a nice bonus. Now right from the File Menu of the QuickTime Player, you can choose "New Screen Recording" to record what you're doing on your screen to a QuickTime movie or share it right to YouTube or MobileMe. There are also options to size it down and make it iPod or Apple TV compatible. A nice touch since apps like iShowU and Snapz Pro cost more than the QuickTime Pro license and Snow Leopard combined!

I thought this feature was available no matter what (QT Pro or no). My understanding was that having a QT Pro license only meant that QT 7 would be automatically installed.

I'll have to check it on a Mac that doesn't have Pro. Typically the NEW recording stuff is grayed out if you don't have Pro. Perhaps it's different in SL.

There are no more "pro" licenses with QT X. Everybody gets all the features.

The "free" Pro features come at the cost of reduced format support, among other things.

All the old formats are still available in the QT 7 player (at least for now).

Jack,
That's interesting. I have seen conflicting reports on this. |

I'm going by the link I posted above. You *do* need a "pro" key for QT 7 for the extra export options according to the article.

I give. What does this mean. Or can you translate on the iBBS? Never mind .... I don't want to say this ... okay "I Googled it". Calvin Carson ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ "portions of todays programming are reproduced by means of electrical transcriptions or tape recordings." "....Mailbox!....Open.......... MailBox!" "I was exposed to the GUI and have been stuck ever since!" "Remember.. Under our clothes...we are all naked" |

The translation is "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch". We used to use it as a password on some servers by putting in a "-" at various locations. |
