If you have a .Mac account, one of the benefits is the iDisk. In your iDisk you have various folders that can only be seen by you! However, there is a "Public" folder that can be seen by anyone. This is a handy place to put things that you want others to pick up (download) or it's a handy place for others to leave things for you (upload).

It's like having a virtual floppy disk that you can pass around via the web. You can even password protect your Public folder if you like.

The problem in the past with the Public Folder is while it was easy for Mac users to access them, it took a little more finesse for Windows users to do it.

Now there is an easier way!

.Mac public folders can be access via a web browser without any special plugin's or utilities.

The address to your Public folder on your iDisk is: http://idisk.mac.com/membername-Public

replace "membername" with your .Mac user name and you're all set.

Yay! This makes it much easier to get at files from a Windows PC. Idisk is a great way of making your files portable.
