Now that the File Browser has been replaced by the Adobe Bridge in Photoshop CS2 when you choose Browse from the File menu or click the Browse button you have to wait for the Bridge to launch.
One way to avoid this is to simply have the Bridge launch in the background with Photoshop - AUTOMATICALLY! Simply enable this preference in your Photoshop General Prefs.
