For some reason my MBP is defaulting to CTRL key to make this work with the trackpad. Nonetheless, very neat and I will have immediate use for this in my demonstrations and podcast.

The reason is that I'm a moron - that is the default key (at least on my system) not Option. You can set it to whatever in the System Preferences/Keyboard and Mouse/Mouse tab.
