In this last round of Leopard 10.5.2 and iPhoto 7.1.2 updates, Apple added a new feature that eliminates one of my main complaints with iPhoto-to-.mac web galleries.

Before the update, all of your galleries were listed on your "my Web Gallery" page for all to see. Well that kinda sucked if you were publishing galleries for different clients, organizations, families, etc. My work around was to simply password protect each of the galleries so that others wouldn't be able to see them.
Well Apple fixed this with a new feature in iPhoto '08 (7.1.2) that allows you to "Hide album on my Web Gallery page". It's in the "Advance" section of the Web Gallery posting dialog box.

I haven't tried it yet, but I assume that no one would be able to see the photos without knowing the exact URL to get to them. This is what I wanted from the start without having to use passwords. I will now use this feature more often.

There are two kinds of computer users: those who have lost data and those who are about to — backup your Mac!

This sounds like a really good feature. However, I've read that the new iWeb does not play nice with iWeb sites created with previous versions. I have several that I would like to be sure would stay intact if I went to the new version '08. Has anyone had any negative experiences with iWeb '08 damaging their sites' contents created with previous versions?

Yes, I've seen it using the blog templates. For some reason, older browsers will only see header and footer material, but none of the body text and graphics. The main page will show normally, but if you go to a specific page/entry, header-footer-no body. Now, FWIW, it did not happen with my site, and both were done originally with the same version and updated at about the same time, both on Intel iMacs. The only difference in creation is that my pages are all typed directly into iWeb and the offending pages have some text that was pasted in place from other apps.
