I would love to learn how to use InDesign, but I am not sure where would be a good place to take it (like "New Horizons" etc.)?

Thanks,
Natalie

You might try the MacProfessionals and also there are a couple people in the group that teach it one-on-one.

You can never go wrong by doing the right thing.

4 out of 3 people have trouble with fractions.

There are three kinds of people, those who are good at math and those who aren't.

There are two kinds of computer users: those who have lost data and those who are about to — backup your Mac!

If you are a "book" person, here are 2 suggestions:

1.The Adobe "Classroom in a Book" series is very good, because they use a "hands-on" tutorial type of presentation and include CD's with sample files for sample projects. (Try a search for "InDesign" on Amazon, or the Adobe bookstore site. If you have purchased InDesign, the package may have a coupon for a discount on CIB books at Adobe.)

2. For MUCH more detail, - also with a CD & project tutorial approach - look up a Deke McClelland book. I have "Adobe InDesign CS One-on-One," but I think there is an updated version for CS2. CD also includes some Total Training video with McClelland showing various features.
-Published by O'Reilly

These books list in the $45-$50 range. May be able to find them discounted somewhere on the web.

You can find many self-paced tutorials on adobe.com, and the best part is that they are FREE! You might also try attending this local InDesign user group... http://www.indesignusergroup.com/

There is also an Adobe Certified InDesign Expert who
teaches InDesign, who sits at the Genius Table.
(Shameless plug.)

Another alternative is lynda.com. http://lynda.com/

You can try some of the lessons for free on that site. I have been a member for one year now and just renewed because of the revolutionary CS3 package just announced. The lessons are given by recognized experts in each of the different disciplines.

You can watch each video and absorb the information at your own pace. You can also go back after practicing what you learned and review. I've learned a lot from the site and think the money is well spent.

Bzzt! Dave doesn't sit at the Genius Table, he sits at the Genius Bar.

Thanks for playing. You don't win the washer-dryer, but you do get the home version of our game.

When one is a user of a truly great machine...one must STAND for something.

If "7 stands for Detroit"

then

"Dave stands for Apple"

and that's my Last Stand.

P.S. dave said:

"Besides, she looks much better in heels!"

and you would know this how????

Okay I am going to stop here and go back to being a good member.
