I cannot open a PDF with InDesign 2.0 for some page layout work. [ This is the first time I've used InDesign. ]
The PDF was created on a Windows PC via OmniPage Pro 15 and saved as a PDF file version 1.5. It needs editting in InDesign, since the OCR wasn't perfect. How can InDesign 2.0 open a recalcitrant PDF? [ Adobe Reader 8.1.2 opens the PDF just fine. Photoshop CS (version 8.0) opens the PDF just fine. ] P.S. When I say InDesign 2.0, that means 2.0.0. For whatever reason, I cannot download the updaters 2.0.1 and 2.0.2. Nor the SVG download. Thanks. |

1. You can't "Open" or you can't "Place?"
You can only place PDF's in InDesign. 2. You can't edit a PDF in any version of InDesign. You have editing capabilities of a PDF in Illustrator or Photoshop. You have optimal editing capabilities of a PDF with Acrobat. In this scenario InDesign is not the appropriate tool. |

OK. Thanks. I will try placing a PDF into Acrobat. Stay tuned.

Your only choice will be to "Open."
With Acrobat (not Reader) you might want to try the built-in OCR to see if it will clean up the previous OCR of OmniPage. |
