May be of interest to color pros out there - just announced in an email newsletter:

The VP950b offers 98% NTSC color and the VP2250wb offers 106% NTSC color capability. By comparison, the average LCD only offers 72% color. Thus, the color rendering of the VP950b and VP2250wb is far superior to the average LCD."

There are a number of monitors with this gamut size. Caveat emptor. Viewsonic is not known for producing a quality product.

You might also ask yourself if NTSC is an appropriate color space for your work. You might also ask yourself which 106% of NTSC color space Viewsonic is selling. Are there missing colors in the middle of the gamut?

It's always a good idea to look at a 3-D graph of the color space, and compare it to other monitors & output devices. One free way of doing that is to acquire a monitor profile and compare gamuts in ColorSync. [Profiling might not be free if you have to buy a measuring device. Try to have the manufacturer send you an ICM file. ]
