My pastor is a diehard Word Perfect user. He has reluctantly gone to Mac and is running parallels.
Several issues have developed: 1.)In the Mac enviroment the office staff want to print prayer booklets. 8.5 x 11.0 paper where the pages (1-4) are properly placed so that when printed it is in the "ready to fold" format. They have MS Office for MAC. According to my Pastor, this is a very easy process in Word Perfect. 2.)emails with PC attachments. He is unable to take an attached PC file from the MAC Mail program and drag it into the parallels windows enviroment. How can a file be easily moved from the Mac enviroment to the Windows enviroment. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks |

2) In Parallels you can setup a shared folder on the host system that the guest can access. With the virtual machine turned off, click on edit and one of the choices is Shared Folder.

Additional options:
1) Get Booklightning to do the page imposition (reordering for folding) on Macs. It takes a PDF in and produces a new PDF out. 2) The next version of Parallels (a "release candidate" right now, but very stable for me - your Pastor may wish to try it) allows for dragging and dropping files to/from the virtual machine. === Professor Hubert Farnsworth: “Nothing is impossible. Not if you can imagine it. That’s what being a scientist is all about.” Cubert J. Farnsworth: “No, that’s what being a magical elf is all about.” |
