Does anyone know if when one is on a PC and one has Adobe Acrobat Reader, can one make comments in a PDF, save those comments, and return the PDF back to the sender? I do this all the time with Acrobat Professional, but I have co-workers who don't and I would like them to be able to mark-up my PDFs w/o having to buy Acrobat Pro.

Yes that is exactly what you can do.
View this feature from this Acrobat 'tour.' Click here Select the "View the Feature Tour" button and select the "Collaborate" tab. It's part of the "Review and Comment" menu item and features. |

Provided that the person creating the PDF enables this feature for Reader by using Acrobat Professional 7 or 8 to do so, yes.

Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro, then go to the Comments menu item. Under neath Comments is an item to "Enable comments for Acrobat Reader". Select that, and you'll be asked to save the file. The new file will now allow comments with Adobe Reader 7.0 or above (you can test it yourself - open the file before and after and you'll notice the difference - Reader will let you know that the file is set for commenting).

If you're referring to sending someone a PDF so that they can comment back on it using Reader, then it would be the Attach/Send for Email Review command in Acrobat Professional.

Wow guys thanks! This works like a charm. Right now people have been using powerpoint to route documents and mark them up. AAACKKK! I knew you could do it with Acrobat pro, but not everybody has it. But now not only can people mark it up, it shows exactly who made the comment, when they made it and whether it was checked off or not. The pdf keeps track of all of it, I don't have to do a thing! I also love the automation built in the group review. Awesome!
