Hotel WiFi
Jedi Knight
If you travel much and take your computer / smart phone with you and stay at hotels / motels, there is a rise in the scam of "crooks" setting up wi-fi hotspots with strong signals in the area of these hotels / motels or even when THEY check in.

They will use a wi-fi name similar to the hotel's but usually ask for credit card info as a "security measure" for you to use the wi-fi.

When checking in, ask what the specific name of their wi-fi network is. If wired is available, use that instead of wireless.

Just be careful...

The hassle of trying to get your identity cleared up is immense.
