I convinced my boss to switch and he is quite happy with his choice. He chose the 17" MB Pro.
Whathe needs to know is doesw he need to put the MB to sleep prior to closing the top because he feels the battery is depleted after a lenghty period of non use (1-2 hours)

Usually closing the lid DOES put it to sleep. However, lately on my 15" MBP that hasn't been happening reliably so I've just been manually putting it to sleep before closing the lid.

The battery will drain while sleeping. However, it shouldn't drain significantly in 1-2 hours.

You can never go wrong by doing the right thing.

4 out of 3 people have trouble with fractions.

There are three kinds of people, those who are good at math and those who aren't.

There are two kinds of computer users: those who have lost data and those who are about to — backup your Mac!
