I have a Late 2011 17" Mac Book Pro with a Quad-Core processor(2.2Ghz) that developed Graphics issues. It was rebooting continuously, and had garbled graphics. Apple's extended warranty had expired, and it is considered obsolete. I read online, that Fry's Electronics, in Palo Alto, could diagnose and repair the Mac Book Pros with these issues. This is true, because I called, found out that they would charge $250 if the MBP was repaired successfully, and they did mine, and it works fine, now! I don't know if it will happen again, but apparently the Technician there has developed a soldering/welding prices that fixes the Graphics issues. My 17" MacBook Pro is running like new!It was $250 well-spent, as I love my 17" MBP, and it's plentiful Ports and Screen Real-Estate. It runs quietly, and the fans rarely rev-up.
