Has anyone attempted (or succeeded) in turning their iPhone into a WiFi modem for mobile use?

Thanks.

Apparently, somebody has done so. I don't have an iPhone myself. A quick Google search revealed THIS article from Lifehacker.
According to the article, you will have to be willing to jailbreak your iPhone to do this.

I only skimmed the article and of course couldn't test it if I wanted to so assuming I have a robust well rounded understanding of modeming an iPhone would be an error. I don't want to know until and if I do get an iPhone.

I'm never "lost" cause I always know where "I" am. I just may not know where anything else is or how to get there.

Thanks Kirk. There are similar modifications to iPhones that accomplish this purpose. I don't know which is the best method.

I was hoping to find an experienced MacGroup iPhone owner that has done this. Maybe I'm a little bit chicken.
