For some reason today, Photoshop Elements 3 started showing the "broken lines" of the selected area of cropped photos when I File>New>Image from Clipboard. It also saved them with white borders. It never used to do this. Why now, and how do I change it back?

I found it. It seems that "Feathering" will do this. I've never used it, but somehow it had a value of one- just enough to annoy. I set it to zero, and the problem disappeared.
