The family cat decided that she wanted
to learn how to use a laptop too.
In the process, she tore off about 10
keys on a black MacBook1,1.
Anyone in our group do repairs of this kind?
It will normally require a new keyboard.
If you will send me the following information I will get a price for you.
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro9,1
It's a MacBook, MacBook1,1
After watching a YouTube video,
I was able to reset 8 of the keys myself.
Now just looking for the plastic rings that
hold the F12 and =/+ keys in place.
If you have these "parts" lying around,
gathering dust... contact me.
The scissor hinges you need break easily (which is why you now need them). If you make a Genius Bar appt. at your favorite Apple store, they MAY have spare keys they can offer you for replacement. No guarantee about them having these keys but it may be worth a trip. Since this model MacBook is now Vintage, repair thru Apple isn't an option anymore.
I will look around my office/laboratory for you and see what I have.
