Hi CHunter. I wrote an e-commerce system about 10 years ago in Perl. The game has changed significantly since then, and I'm out of that particular loop, but I may be able to answer some of your questions. Today, in a lot of cases, you can get away without writing a single line of code. And the merchant side of things is much easier than 10 years ago too -- anyone with PayPal can accept credit cards.

Chita, A lot of web hosting companies offer shopping cart software behind the scenes along with your paid web hosting.

Not sure if you are looking into setting up a basic Online Shopping cart or something much deeper.

Art, I have a pretty good handle on the basic stuff.
What knowledge I'm looking for is a little more
involved.
