i was watching the NBC internet scam show and Chris Hansen showed how on a Win machine you can track where an email originated. I went under view/message/Raw source but it only gives the email sites but not the country
Is there a program available to do this? |

They are simply looking at IP addresses and tracing down where they're assigned - which isn't always accurate. My work office in Southfield was listed as being in Arizona for a while because that's where the ISP we were hooked up to was headquartered.
There's no country information in the headers, just computer names and/or IP addresses. Neither one is a guarantee as to where any particular computer is. === Professor Hubert Farnsworth: “Nothing is impossible. Not if you can imagine it. That’s what being a scientist is all about.” Cubert J. Farnsworth: “No, that’s what being a magical elf is all about.” |
