I upgraded my wired router with a wireless router this weekend and noticed this router has additional setting for DOS Attacks(Denial of Service). Should I turn this on? I am not running a server. Also none of the Macs have Wi-Fi (I picked up the wireless router for the Nintendo DS I gave my wife for christmas, which has built in Wi-Fi). I did protect the router with a 128 bit WEP password.
One cool thing about the Nintendo DS is it can be used as a Wi-Fi locater. |

Yes, you should turn on the DoS if your router has it. Just because you don't host a server doesn't mean you won't be a target.
If your Nintendo and the router does WPA, use that instead of WEP. The FBI showed how WEP can be broken in less then 5 minutes with tools freely available on the 'net. If you don't have WPA, leave the WEP - it's better than nothing (just not much). === Professor Hubert Farnsworth: “Nothing is impossible. Not if you can imagine it. That’s what being a scientist is all about.” Cubert J. Farnsworth: “No, that’s what being a magical elf is all about.” |

Thanks Jack,
I looked up more info at the Nintendo Wi-Fi site, the DS only supports WEP. |
