A few of the movie studios have now started doing Movie DVDs with a second disc that contains a "Digital Copy." In other words, a copy for your computer/iPod/iPhone. I think this is a NEAT idea. I think it's even a better idea for Blu-ray discs. I can already HandBrake a movie DVD that I buy and make a digital copy to play on my other devices. However, I can't do that (yet) with a Blu-ray High Def movie. I've only seen a handful (like 3) Blu-ray titles that contain a Digital Copy:
The Bank Job [Blu-ray + Digital Copy] [Blu-ray] The Eye [Blu-ray + Digital Copy] [Blu-ray] Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns [Blu-ray + Digital Copy] [Blu-ray] Have you guys seen anymore or a list of them? The 3 titles above aren't ones that I would buy (although I may buy one just to review how the whole process works). ---- You can never go wrong by doing the right thing. 4 out of 3 people have trouble with fractions. I just got the Family Guy Blue Harvest (Star Wars spoof) on standard def DVD that included a 2nd disc with a digital copy. Interesting thing with the digital copy, you punch in the access code and it launches the iTunes store & downloads the movie from the iTunes store. The disc was not even required, it may be different for the windows version though.

It does *not* download the movie (although it makes it look that way in the displays) - it takes the movie from the disc, which *is* required.

I ejected the disc while it was downloading from iTunes. When it went to iTunes 1st I did not start the download. Instead I punched in the code to redeem a gift card from the ITMS thinking it might give me store credit. It then automatically went to the title in the store. |

My disc was in use the whole time (I had to switch to an external because my internal drive died and would not read the disc - I made multiple attempts). The external has an access light and it was going during the "download".
So maybe they've changed it up - I did this back when this disk first came out in January - since then, but mine certainly came off of the DVD. === Professor Hubert Farnsworth: “Nothing is impossible. I've got "The Eye" Blu-ray on order to do a test/review and I'll let you know how it works when It comes.
