I have an older macbook pro connected to my hdtv via dvi-hdmi cable. The sound is connected to my sound system. I notice that when I play a video on my computer, sometimes the display on my tv is cut-off. I have tried views in full screen and fit to screen. I have the display setting at 1080p-television and the highest resolution. It also appears somewhat grainier than on my computer screen. I usually use quicktime pro or the vlc player. Are there any settings that will correct this problem? Thanks.
Rhonda

The problem you refer to is Overscan. It's accounted for on Apple's newest Macs like the Man mini. However, for older Macs you might want to try DisplayConfigX

There are two kinds of computer users: those who have lost data and those who are about to — backup your Mac!
