My mighty mouse won't pair with my computer. It was working fine last night. I've put new batteries in but it makes no difference. When I go to the bluetooth preference pane and ask it to pair, it recognizes the mouse but can't make a connection. Is their a solution I'm overlooking or is it time to replace my mouse? Thanks.

Have you restarted your computer?

If that doesn't work, you could try deleting the mouse from the Bluetooth devices on the computer and then try to pair it.

Using another mouse, just delete the wireless mouse from System Preference > Bluetooth and then add it back to the system. This happens every now and then to my wife's mouse after changing batteries, so you're not alone.

Thanks guys. I had already tried deleting the mouse and adding it back in with no success, but a restart of the computer seems to have done the trick. Thanks!!!

Chuck, I've been using one since they were first released. My only complaint with it is the way crud accumulates under the track pea. There is no easy way to dismantle the thing, so you can't do a full cleaning. Tracking and response are great. Best of any wireless mice I've used. It's also the first mouse I've used in years that does not stress my wrist that is a mess from years of punching a 10-key adding machine. I've had carpal tunnel problems with my right wrist for decades.

As I said, the trackpea is my only complaint. I finally retired mine in favor of a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch pad. Verdict is still out on that. It sits a little lower than I like, so I've had it blocked up. It's also not as responsive as my MacBook trackpad. On the positive side, it does have some nifty features, although I find myself grabbing the pen when finger gestures aren't quite cutting it. And no, not that finger gesture, even though it's tempting at times. Wink
