At the "Genius Table" Chitra recently created an alias for the MANY docs on the desktop of my MacBook. How do I do the same for my iMac?
Many thanks! (What would I do without MacGroup?!!)

Hi Nancy,
I created an alias of your Documents Folder, so that you
can drop files directly into it without having to
continuously 'dig down' from the Finder window every time
you need to put a file in the Documents Folder

An alias is like a "portal" or "shortcut" to the actual folder

To do the same with your iMac >
First, Open a Finder window >
Navigate >
"Computer > Users > "Home" icon > Documents Folder >
Click on the Documents Folder to select it >
Now that it is selected >
Go to the File menu > Scroll down and select Make Alias >
A new "Document Alias" folder icon will be created >
Drag this icon to your Desktop >
Close the Finder window

Now, when you want to drop files into the Documents Folder,
that are sitting on your Desktop, just drag them onto this
"Documents Alias" folder

Hope that Helps,
