running 10.4.11 on all my G4 computers. The Powerbook insists it has problems syncing with the docmac sync engine. The other computers are fine. I have tried unregistering. I have tried merging when subsequently syncing. I have tried replace from .mac. I still get the same message and the sync does not seem to complete. This has been going on about 2 weeks, since the iTunes 9.0.1 update, I think. I didn't do that update on all the other computers. On my Macmini, I still have iTunes 8.2.1, if that makes any difference. But on my eMac I have 9.0.1 and it is syncing fine. My iPod Touch, with the latest update, is fine. Just the Powerbook, with iTunes 9.0.1 is messed up.It, too, used to sync just fine.
Should I try an archive and install? I have a 55GB drive with about 6GB free. 1.33 processor. 1.25 RAM. |

Did you go into iSync and reset sync history on the computer that isn't working right?

I don't see any iSync. Do you mean in System Prefs:.Mac:Advanced:Reset Sync Data?
No, I did not do that. I only unregistered this PB then reregistered it. Is that the place? If I click on that it asks me if I want to replace all Sync Info on this computer from .mac. that would be fine as the data on .mac is fine. Is this where I should click? there's a blue Replace button. Will that get rid of the message I keep getting? I should add that I usually keep my syncing prefs set to automatic, but on that problem computer I have now set it to manual so as to not keep getting that message. |

Well, I clicked on that button and I got
".Mac Sync Error A failure occurred while synchronizing the .Mac Sync Client." again. |

iSync is an app in your Applications folder.

Sorry, I was looking in the Utilities folder. In iSync app Prefserences the button to Reset Sync History is greyed out and the Log is blank.
The iSync window has two icons: .mac and Sync Devices. At the bottom it says "Refreshing contact groups and calendar information..." BUT the sync icon in my menu is not circling and it says the last .mac sync was last night at 7:45 pm, but that is the one that gave me that failure message again. |
