1. Epson R200
2. Connected to Airport Extreme

Since I connected my printer to my Airport Extreme, it does not
show in the Printer List, that allows me to select it to check the
ink cartridge levels.

Is this the right place to get to this info now, or does being
connected to the Airport Extreme cause me to go to another
location to access this info?

Many times the Epson printer drivers need to be completely deleted and reinstalled. They become easily corrupted.

Epson has a pay-per-service toll free help line. I suggest that you write down their instructions for the next time things get corrupted. Epson's written instructions are not complete.

I've found on my R800 that the interface matters. Firewire doesn't work. USB works. It's very difficult for certain manufacturers to write good firmware and software.

See Apple Knowledge Base http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1253

In part, it says, "Note: AirPort Base Station and Time Capsule printer sharing is for printing only, not for printer utilities or other special features that may require a direct proprietary connection."

Chita:

Check your Applications folder for the Epson Utility and run it (printer must be turned on).

Here is a Link to the Mac drivers.

NOTE: Please see the Start Here Card (Copy Attached of the one they provide) before connecting the printer to the computer with your USB cable. You must install your software before connecting the printer cable to the computer.

Many printers do not like to work off a non-direct connected USB port. I would delete the printer from your Mac and then reinstall it. You should also download the most current driver off their web site. Do this one first, Epson EasyPrint v3.10 Then do this as an update Common Updater Intel-based Macs with OS X (v10.5 - 10.5.x), PowerPC Macs with OS X (v10.5 - 10.5.x) Intel-based Macs with OS X (v10.4.4 - v10.5.x), PowerPC Macs with OS X (v10.3.9 - v10.5.x)

Also Epson is rather loose on charging for tech support. I have called many times about older (out of warranty) equipment and never received a mention of a charge for help. Maybe it's the current economy and they do not want to alienate any potential customers.

Thanks All,
Jim that's the exact issue.
I was hoping that since connecting to the AE, there
may have been a utility setup for the printer within
the AE software. Oh, well...

Chita- I had the same problem and yes the printer must be connected to a USB port on the computer or a hub for the utilities to work.

Experience is what you get when you were expecting something else.
