I have 2 iPods -- an iPhone & a 2nd gen Nano. I'm also running Snow Leopard & iTunes 9.
Prior to iTunes 9, I could sync both devices using iTunes. Now, my iPhone will sync music, podcasts, photos, calendars, contacts, etc..., BUT my iPod Nano will not sync calendars & contacts anymore. The lists of Address Book groups, and Calendars are empty; checking the box for Calendars brings up an alert that "You have no calendars, would you like to open iCal to create them?". If I say "Open iCal", it shows me all my calendars just fine, but iTunes can't see them when I attach my Nano. The Nano will sync music & photos OK. What's going on? Bug? Feature? |

Steven,
The problem is a corrupt sync database. I have fixed this by unregistering the iPod using Syncrospector.app, one of the Developer Applications Utilities included in the Xcode package. Xcode takes a little over 2GB to install. From http://developer.apple.com/TOOLS/xcode/ "Xcode is Apple's premiere development environment for Mac OS X. In addition to being packaged on the DVD with every copy of Mac OS X , ..." From http://developer.apple.com/mac...ngSyncrospector.html "Syncrospector is a debugging tool that you can use to inspect clients, the truth database, and the call history of sync sessions." I am available for further consultation, but I don't drink Pepsi. |

Thanks, Jim!
My SL install disk is at work and I don't feel like downloading the XCode pkg, so I'll let you know if it works later. |
