HELP!!
My Mac Book Pro will not start up. It gets to the grey screen with the spinning wheel, and then nothing. I zapped the pram, I started in single user mode and ran fsck -fy, no luck. I then attempted to run Disk Warrior and it would not start up off that disk either. I know that starting up from Disk Warrior usually takes longer than usual, but I let it run 2 hours and it never got past the grey screen with the spinning wheel. Does anyone have suggestions to get it going?? |

Any hardware changes lately, like new memory? New hard drive?
Can you get it into FireWire target disk mode? The fact that you can't start up from a DVD is worrisome - sounds like a hardware failure. Can you boot from a OS X disk? How about another external disk on a USB or FireWire drive? === Professor Hubert Farnsworth: “Nothing is impossible. Not if you can imagine it. That’s what being a scientist is all about.” Cubert J. Make an appointment for the nearest Apple store to get the unit serviced. Since it won't boot from the internal HD or from DiskWarrior, my hunch is that the MLB is the cause of your troubles

Main Logic Board or the motherboard. The main board of the computer.
