Installed 10.6 over 10.5.8. No particular problems until: Failed to sync contacts and calendars to my iPod,
Name: Apple iPod (Video or 5th Generation) Model: MA448 iPod video 80GB white Generation=5 ModelCode: ipod_video Was working fine under 10.5.8. Now, the Contacts check box clears itself. The Calendar check box gets an error of no calendars available, do you want to go to iCal? Creation of a new calendar in iCal makes no difference. The check box clears itself. Any ideas? Found a new feature of 10.6!
Option-Click on Menu Bar Sync icon. Select Open Sync Diagnostics... I unregistered the iPod and then synced it from iTunes again - this re-registered the iPod and the problem was gone. Apparently there was some database corruption somewhere that was fixed by unregistering and re-registering via the Sync process. Now I am not afraid to go on to upgrading a MacBook Pro system from 10.5.8 to 10.6. - |
