I have not witnessed this myself, but I was trying to help another Mac User with a Strange problem. This person says that he has icons showing up in the Menu bar where Text should be. For example, Safari is open and where the word "Safari" is he sees the Safari icon.
 He has performed both an Archive & Install AND Erase & Install. Supposedly the Text shows up in the Menu bar but changes to an Icon shortly afterward. Without being in front of his computer, I have no way to actually verify this issue but it has me curious. Searching for answers has left me empty handed. Has anyone ever seen this issue before??? Correct... up top in the drop down Menu bar.
