I recently asked Siri to make a lunch appointment with a friend, using her full name. To my horror I later discovered that Siri triggered an invitation email. It's embarrassing because this person invited me and it looks like I didn't trust her to remember doing so.
Is there anyway to prevent this in the future? I search the apple discussions and couldn't find a solution. Thanks for any advice you can give.
iPhone 5s iOS 8.4, native calendar app. I also have a mbp running the latest version of Yosemite.
Have you considered calling her and explaining what happened.
I realize this does not undo what was done but it would sure get you out of hot water.
P.S. Welcome to the wonderful world of computers.
If you tell Siri to "Add John Doe to lunch on Thursday at 2:00", it will trigger an email invite. If you tell Siri to "Create a lunch appointment with John Doe on Thursday at 2:00", it will help you save face.
It is all about HOW you ask Siri to do things...

"What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?"
Thanks! I did explain, but it's a more formal relationship and I didn't want to seem too flip.
And thanks for the tip about wording for Siri, I will keep trying to train myself to use that function. Cheers!
