Just recorded a tv show using Pinnacle's HD Stick for Mac. Saved it to my hard drive, but it is in a wierd format, .eyetv
It doesn't seem to serve any purpose except exist on my hard drive to be viewed with Eye TV by Elgato. I don't see anything on their website about converting it to quicktime, mp4 , dvd (desired) or anything. Any thoughts by anyone? My sone in Illinois is waiting for a dvd of the show... Huron Mike |

You need to have the full version of the EyeTV software to convert the video to something viewable outside of the EyeTV software. The Pinnacle comes with a "lite" version. Go to Elgato's web site and look into the upgrade.

Sorry, I'm slacking off a bit because of the holiday<g>.
Looks like you upgrade via your current software - this is from the Elgato site: EyeTV lite customers please note: This upgrade product is not compatible with EyeTV lite. To upgrade to EyeTV 3, launch the EyeTV lite software, select "help" from the top menu, and select "Upgrade to EyeTV". === Professor Hubert Farnsworth: “Nothing is impossible. There is a workaround if you have Popcorn or Toast (there may be another converter out there, Handbrake does not work with these files nor does QuickTime Pro).
1)Change the extension of the file from "Live Recording.eyetv" to "Live Recording.mov" this will create a folder called "Live Recording .mov" inside this folder will be 4 files use the file ending in ".mpg" 2) Using Popcorn or Toast you can convert this file to whatever format you need! I have used this method to convert old VHS family videos. ![]() |
