Costco sells a package with 8 AA and 2 AAA eneloop batteries and charger for $29. These are the only Li-ion cells that retain 85% of initial charge for up to a year. The item # is:277265. They work great in my Nikon SB800. Paul

Are these available in the stores? The only time I have a chance to get to a Costco is on my way to the Mac Group meetings. There is one off 275 as I go north.

There are other good battery brands and chemistries for sale also. But there are LOTS of bad rechargeables for sale.
Some common practices destroy batteries. Buying good batteries doesn't guarantee they're going to stay good. You have to keep them fully charged, and minimize the frequency and depth of discharge. That's always been true, in spite of popular myths, for any type of battery. That's why Factory Charged batteries cost more, and last longer. Freezing them (in your car or coat pocket) is a fast way to kill working batteries. |
