Can anyone recommend a local Photoshop or Photography Club in Wayne, Macomb or Oakland County? I recently recommended MacGroup to a photographer - who has yet to be converted from PC to Mac.

Midwest Photography Workshop in Farmington Hills teaches photography and Photoshop, and conducts workshops at locations around the area and the world. www.mpw.com. The Photographic Guild meets in Southfield. I am a memeber and I can recommend it, www.thephotoguild.org. There are many other fine camera clubs in the area as well. Contact the Greater Detroit Camera Club Council, www.gdccc.org. All the Detroit camera clubs are great, cost effective ways to gain a real world photography education and meet other photographers.

This might sound sacrilegious, but there's no reason to convert from Windows to a Mac if you're an average photographer or computer user.

As you become more discerning, there's lots of reasons.

The most accurate color can only be achieved on Macs. System stability, reliability, and availability will be greater on the Mac. But if he isn't aware of those factors, or doesn't care about them, they won't influence his judgment. The use of Mac would just seem like another faddish affectation among computer effetes.
