Now that Fujitsu is not supporting the old ScanSnap 5110OEXM under Sierra, I am looking for a new scanner (sheet feeder, not flatbed). Any suggestions?
Sorry, I don't have a recommendation, but a question.
Is your ScanSnap still operating under MacOS Sierra?
My understanding is that some aspects of the software
are incompatible and if you don't use those particular
features, the scanner still works fine. Y/N?
The same thing happened with my scansnap model. Originally a particular feature of it didn't work under the new system. I think it was saving to folders, as I remember. But then they fixed the software and now it works completely. This was after they said they were not going to support the new system. They did anyway.
The ScanSnap manager icon has a red circle and line and is greyed out, like the software is not compatible with the OS. :-( Haven't tried the TWAIN interface.
My version of ScanSnap Manager is 3.2.80. Created Dec.8,2010. Modified Nov. 13, 2016. Works fine
You can use Vuescan. It supports that scanner.
Thanks for the link!
I did not know that VueScan had released this driver.
I have not upgraded to Sierra because of the problems
with the ScanSnap scanner. I use this scanner daily,
and even the notion of losing it, kept me from upgrading.
I use Vuescan for my canon scanner. Vuescan does not support my particular Fujitsu s1300i though. But the Fujitsu driver I mentioned works fine.
Donna, my scanner is the fi-5110EOXM.
If you go to the link Donna provided,
there is a driver for that model scanner.
Try it and let us know if it works.
that specific scanner is on the list of VueScan supported scanners.
