Kindle capability has come to the iPhone & iPod touch. Kindle for iPhone.
I downloaded the free app, then grabbed a free chapter, and I have to admit that it's not bad. I can see that Amazon is going to be getting a lot more of my money. |

Admittedly, I'm not much a of a book/novel reader, so I haven't been interested in or following Kindle at all.
However, it seems like a natural for the iPod touch and even iPhone to have this capability. Since the App is Free, I will check it out. I noticed that Scott Kelby's Digital Photography Book 1 & 2 are available in Kindle format. So I may buy those since they are good to have as reference when I'm out shooting and it would beat having to carry the physical books. For me this would be a perfect use for a Kindle app on my iPhone. My only concern is what it will do to battery life. The iPhone 3g battery life is not great as it is. Adding an app that keeps the display constantly on for long periods of time can't be good. ---- You can never go wrong by doing the right thing. 4 out of 3 people have trouble with fractions. There are three kinds of people, those who are good at math and those who aren't. There are two kinds of computer users: those who have lost data and those who are about to — backup your Mac! |

I chew through books like mad. Have looked at Kindle and the other readers, but cannot stand the blinky page turns. The iPhone/touch reader is so much nicer, just a scroll-flick. Pages are smaller, of course, but I can live with that. Big advantage is that we get full color, not the Kindle grayscale.
