I am looking for a used lap top for a specific need ...web searching, Google etc. Not a power machine ....but a small footprint desk tool for use in my studio as sort of an answer seeking, check out facts resource Mac.

Age isn't a factor if it can readily go online and not misbehave. Cosmetic issues are not critical in this situation.

I imagine it will be that used G4 or even an agile G3 that you forgot when Intel chips came along.
I want to trade ...am thinking in the range up to $350.00.

I might be willing to sell my Old Powerbook G4 Alum 1.25. Although I'm really not looking for any new pottery.

I guess it would make an interesting conversation at the next Mac Group meeting telling everyone about the great pot I bought off this guy that Phyllis knows! :-P

Last time i heard a line like this it was spoke by Tommy Chong. Perhaps he owned a Mac Laptop as well.

How much memory, and what price?

I think it has 1.5 GB's of RAM. It's running 10.4, but I would like to wipe the drive before I gave it to anyone. I have 2 batteries for it. I have the original box if that means anything. I guess $350 sounds fair. They're going for about the same price on eBay.

This is the 15" with 80 gig HD, Superdrive, right? Sounds like a good deal, and I've emailed the info to John. I'm not worried about the OS.

If nothing else develops, I have a G4 PowerBook 80 gig with 512 MB ram 10.4.11, Battery is dicey and the disc player/burner doesn't work. I do not have a wall wart and the case is somewhat beat up but she runs like a charm. . . . And I love pottery!

Bill what did you want for you Powerbook. I must say that the best pottery I can do for you is an ash tray. It won't be world renowned but I could get Scott Kelby to take a picture with it maybe at the next Macgroup meeting.... if I ask him real nice.
