my little girls imac, 400mhz, OS 9.1 wont turn on. Im looking for a cheep laptop now with the old opereating system to play learning cds.
Im in Oxford.
Also if anyone knows where i look up old mac selling prices please tell me. & other places to buy old macs

Possibly the CMOS battery died. It may be as inexpensive as $4 to $5 to get it back up and running. If so you will be back in business without any loss of data or work involved.

If you are coming to tomorrow's meeting, bring the iMac with you and look for me. I have a spare battery that Brian wrote about, but I really don't think that is the problem. Does the iMac power up at all? If not, it is probably the PAV board. That would not be worth the expense to repair

I do have a few G3 iMac's that work but have no drives. We could swap out your drives into one of those in under 30 minutes. My labor rates are pretty cheap too!

i wont be at the meeting tomorrow. the computer will not power up at all. I tried another cord and another outlet and no luck. Dave let me know how much for the G3 and your labor to see if its affordable (I realize its the cheapest way). your close to me and that would be great to meet up. I think i got my other little girls imac from you at one of the meetings.
